1. Character foils: A foil is a character who highlights, through
contrast (differences), the qualities of another character. Identify
two characters in Act 1 who are foils for each other. What do you learn
about the characters by seeing them in contrast to one another?
-I think who foils for each other is Nurse and Lady Capulet. Nurse is more of a mother/motherly person to Juliet than Lady Capulet is. Nurse also cares more what Juliet wants. Nurse is also more easily to talk to and understanding. Lady Capulet does what she and her husband thinks is best.
2. Both Romeo and Juliet foreshadow in the Act - what do they foreshadow?
Make a prediction of what you believe might happen. Juliet's foreshadowing
is located on pg. 966, Romeo's on 963.
-Juliet's foreshadowing will be when she asked the nurse to go ask someone his name tat means that she interested in him. Romeo foreshadowing is that he talks about her saying that he is in love with her
